Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the DevMirror Android app and this website do with your information. DevMirror is made by Redrope ("we", "us").
In short
- No account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads.
- We don't collect, sell or share your personal data.
- Everything the app saves stays on your phone.
- The app only connects to devices on your own local network.
Information we collect
None. DevMirror has no servers of its own and no analytics, crash-reporting or advertising SDKs. The app never sends information about you or your device to us or to any third party.
Information stored on your phone
To remember your setup, the app saves the following on your device only:
- Servers you connect to: IP address, port, an optional name you give it, whether it's a favorite, and when you last used it.
- The last server you used, so you can reopen it quickly.
- Your light or dark theme choice.
This data never leaves your phone unless Android's own backup feature is turned on. In that case Android may include it in your device backup to your Google account, under Google's privacy policy. We can't access those backups.
When you open a dev server, DevMirror shows it in a built-in web view or your browser. Like any browser, it may keep cookies, cache and site storage from the pages you load. That data stays on your phone and is controlled by the sites you run.
Local network access
DevMirror uses the Internet and network state permissions to:
- Read your phone's Wi-Fi address so it knows which network to scan.
- Check common dev-server ports (such as 3000, 5173 and 5500) on devices in your local network to find running servers.
- Load the server you choose.
These connections go directly between your phone and devices on your network. Nothing is routed through us. Dev servers usually use plain http://, so traffic on your local network isn't encrypted. Only use DevMirror on networks you trust.
When you email us
The app's feedback and bug-report buttons open your own email app, or copy our address to your clipboard. If you send us an email, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to improve DevMirror, we don't share it, and we delete it on request.
This website
This site uses no cookies, analytics or trackers of its own. It does load:
- Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google. See Google Fonts privacy.
- An embedded YouTube video on the home page, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (
youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube may set cookies if you play it. See Google's privacy policy.
Like any web host, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and reliability.
Google Play
If you install DevMirror from Google Play, Google handles the download and may collect information under its own policies. We only see the aggregated, anonymous install and crash statistics that Google Play Console provides to all developers.
Deleting your data
You can delete saved servers one at a time in the app. To remove everything, go to Settings → Apps → DevMirror → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.
Children
DevMirror is a developer tool and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If the change is significant, such as the app starting to collect data, we'll also say so in the app's release notes.
